Nanbenda

The amount of nonsense you have to bear in the latest Udhayanidhi Stalin movie Nanbenda is more than enough to give you a headache. Narrated as a love story, this sick script dwells in mediocrity and makes fun of the people who came to see it.

The story (if you can call it that) focuses on the life of Sathya. He is a jobless guy who goes to meet his friend Siva on every month beginning to use Siva’s salary. On one such visit, Sathya happens to see a girl and falls in love with her. The ridiculous love story tells us how Sathya manages to impress this girl Ramya.

Boy falling in love because of the omen his mother told him, a guy having job simply because of a black tongue, going to jail, escaping from there and again going back to the jail, a sub plot that shows the stupid love story of the friend and a great eye opener message by the hero. All the above mentioned are a few I could remember among the endless number of nonsense which is there in this movie directed by Jagadish. Filled with horrible jokes at very awkward situations, this sloppy film is a tough one to digest.

Udhayanidhi Stalin looks miserable with his performance. All those long dialogue delivery and emotions looks pretty amateurish. Nayantara did her poorly written character in an okay way. No offence to Santhanam, but the movie is so bad that even he can’t save it. Karunakaran is there as another stupid character. Why Sherin was included was clearly visible from the dressing.

Written by the director himself, the story has no control over sick imagination. The director at least should have thought about his hero before writing all these stuff. The maker trying to be serious about the gibberish in the movie is its basic problem.  Screenplay just doesn’t have a single thing that looks sensible. Dialogues are really poor. No catchy songs from Harris Jayaraj. Visuals were nice and the edits were okay.

Overall Nanbenda is a two and a half hour long torture with full of indigestible comedy. The rating for the movie is 1/5. I hope blue cross won’t take action against this crap.
