Rise Of The Guardians

Rise of the guardians is a typical inspiring Hollywood flick made on a backdrop that wasn’t tested before. The movie targets the under 10 audience and the good thing is that its treatment is digestible for the above 18 also. Santa, Tooth fairy, Easter Bunny, The Sand man and Jack Frost are the super heroes here.

The plot revolves around the challenges faced by the title protagonists when the children in this world looses faith in them and starts believing in Boogeyman. A depressed Jack Forest gets recruited as one of the guardian to protect children from the nightmare that is coming and how he manages to do it and how he realizes his center is basically the backbone of the narrative.

Well, the positive of the movie is the exaggerated content itself. I found the story quite interesting as it assigns a special responsibility to the fantasy characters we are used to. Interpreting the job of each of them as a mechanical or organized job was a cool concept. On the down side, the movie follows a typical formula to make Jack Frost realize his value. For a movie that was supposed to entertain the audience with some good laughter, the fun element was missing.

Technically, direction could have been better as the movie lacks quite minute accessories that we are used to in Animation films. Script is somewhat smooth, but it lags a bit in the middle portion. The funs through dialogs were quite limited and I certainly think that they could have worked on it. The animation is eye candy and Sandy is really cute.

Overall, Rise Of The Guardians is an enjoyable one time watch especially for kids. The protagonists are the attraction of this movie and for having such an interesting concept I am giving this Peter Ramsey movie a 3/5.
