Zootopia is a really different animated cinema experience mainly because of the atypical treatment it has got. The existing format that studios follow these days gets a nice tweak here. It has the typical elements we expect in animated feature films, but there is a nice little extension to it. With impressive detailing given to almost every character, Zootopia is highly entertaining.
Judy Hopps is a bunny who aspires to do the conventionally impossible thing of becoming a cop. The girl finally manages to get in to the force with her determination. The journey of Judy in this force where she had to face lot of discriminations and how she proves her caliber is what Zootopia mainly discussing.
The good thing about Zootopia is that it isn’t that much restricted. There is a wide canvas feel to the movie. Even though it has this same old rise of the underdog plot, they have managed to create better set of characters with solid backgrounds and reasons. The actual antagonist in the movie definitely has a valid reason for all the activities. I also liked the way the character of Nick Wilde was presented in the movie. The basic fox nature was there in that character and the generalizing attitude was also questioned through that character. Most of the things that happen in Zootopia are quite similar to the actual world. The whole sequence with Flash, the Sloth was absolutely hilarious.
The makers had to compromise on the amount of humor in the content because of the different approach. If you look at the whole picture, there is a sense of seriousness that may disappoint a section of the audience slightly. There isn’t any compromise in the animation quality from Disney. The dialogues are witty and the numerous characters are memorable (quite an achievement).
So to sum it up, Zootopia is really cheerful, funny and not at all boring. With many memorable characters and wit in the content with some quality conflict, it is surely worth spending your money.
