Ambili, Johnpaul George’s second film after Guppy is very much in the zone of his debut film. The aim of the director is pretty much the same and just like Guppy, we are left in a zone where we will think about the characters we just saw on screen. Even though things are somewhat predictable,… Continue reading Ambili

Nerkonda Paarvai
In Pink when Deepak Sehgal shows Rajveer Singh a photo of Rajveer’s sister Rajveer threatens Sehgal in a lower voice saying you don’t know who you are messing with. The response of Sehgal played by Amitab Bachchan was silence. But when it comes to Nerkonda Paarvai, Bharath Subramaniam played by Ajith has a verbal mass… Continue reading Nerkonda Paarvai
Kalki
When I saw the trailer of the movie Kalki, it lacked a punch which one expects in a so-called mass action movie with an alpha male. If you have felt the same way, then I can tell you that the movie is pretty much an elaborated version of that trailer in terms of feel. There… Continue reading Kalki
Ormayil Oru Shishiram
In the last 20 minutes of the movie Ormayil Oru Shishiram, you will get to know the reason why this concept got converted into a movie. Ormayil Oru Shishiram is basically a beta version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. But unlike Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, here the love story is an absolute dud with excessively cheesy and silly writing.… Continue reading Ormayil Oru Shishiram
Hobbs & Shaw
Fast and Furious is a franchise that one watches mainly to see the crazy imagination of the makers to create set pieces involving vehicles. The characters Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw became easily popular when stars like Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham came on board in this Vin Diesel lead franchise. The popularity of those… Continue reading Hobbs & Shaw
Fancy Dress
Fancy Dress, the new Guinness Pakru movie directed by Ranjith Skaria is one good example of terrible writing. The predictability of this movie is very high and there is absolutely zero importance for freshness. The only thing that is good about this film, in my opinion, is its duration of 124 minutes. The movie ended exactly at that point when you will feel that you can’t take it anymore.
Margamkali
If you are someone who has felt that the last movie of director Sreejith Vijayan, Kuttanadan Marppappa and the last hero outing of Bibin George, Oru Pazhaya Bomb Kadha are enjoyable films, then the new movie Margamkali that marks the first collaboration of these two might work for you as a passable entertainer. I personally am not a fan of the movies mentioned in the beginning and apart from a couple of humorous scenes Margamkali for me was a charmless effort at creating a love story. When Siddique cracked a Kaviyoor Ponnamma related joke towards the end, I really laughed thinking how good it would have been if the whole movie had that kind of sense of humor.
Judgemental Hai Kya
The basic idea of the new Kangana Ranaut starrer Judgemental Hai Kya comes from a point of perspective. Our interpretation of normal and abnormal depends way too much on being a regular person. And among the not so regular ones, we tend to call some mental, simply because they weren’t afraid to be themselves in the public eye. Kanika Dhillon is somewhat juggling with this idea in her new script Judgemental Hai Kya (previously titled Mental Hai Kya) and the end result is an interesting one.
