Sex Tape

The only people who possibly had fun watching and making the film Sex Tape will be Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel (That too depends on the individuals). It was probably one of the most hilarious trailers I have seen this year, but when it came to the film it was all too dull. Sex Tape is an attempted comedy that doesn’t have any sort of “hilarious” factor in it and it ultimately ends up as a big bore.

The story is about the sex obsessed couple Annie and Jay. The couple who had a great time before the birth of their children found that it’s been a while since they had sex and they plans to do it one day and sends the children to their grandmother. To create the old magic they decided to do something crazy by shooting it in their iPad. Unfortunately Jay forgot to delete the video and it got synced. It was there in every iPad they gave to certain close people on Christmas as gift. Annie and Jay’s attempt to delete the video from all possible places is the content of the movie Sex Tape.

From the trailer itself it is clear that the film will be similar to “The Hangover” type films which utilize the situational humor. Except for the abundant half nude scenes here and there, there is no humor or fun in this Jake Kasdan movie. In the film the characters are in search of a particular person who have seen their tape and from the first glance itself, I was able to find that was. There is no point in over stressing on the same point – it was simply a boring film.

Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel looked good as this obsessed desperate couple. Nothing much to say about the rest of the cast. Direction is just about okay. The screenplay is the villain here and it forgets the fact that the viewer is here to see the fun side of it. The guy who edited the trailer should have edited the film.

Overall Sex Tape is a boring comedy film. Don’t fall for the name. Rating is 1/5 for this movie. No fun No fun No fun!
